He studied acting in London, dance-theatre at Akademiet in Copenhagen as well as contemporary dance at Iwanson International in Munich. Following his graduation, he was an active member in and outside of the Munich dance scene for many years, working and collaborating with artists, directors and choreographers such as Katja Wachter, Ersan Montag, Romeo Castellucci, Cindy van Acker, Daphna Horenczyk, Katrin Schafitel, Cristina D’Alberto, Funda Gül Özcan, Ceren Oran and many others. He is affiliated with following dance and theatre companies as a dancer, choreographer and assistant director: Det Ferøsche Compagnie, Bobbi Lo Produktiona, RIVA, Johanna Richter, Tomer Zirkilevich and Theaterlust.

Holding an interest in the cross-over field between movement, sound composition and text, his bodies of work and co-creations have been performed at festivals such as The Nordic Performing Arts Days, HIER =JETZT, Berlin Performing Arts Festival, Regensburger Tanztage and Nordic Music Days. In recent years, choreography through a post anthroposcene lens and the contemporary body in the digital age have played a substantial role in his interest field and choreographic language.

From 2018 – 2020, Búi was a faculty teacher at Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance, teaching improvisation, composition and leading creative processes. Since spring 2019, he is also a guest teacher at the Otto Falkenberg acting and directing school in Munich, teaching contemporary dance and improvisation for actors.
